IMPORTANT USE INSTRUCTIONS:
Before Lighting
- Always place your candle on a stable, heat-safe surface with a heat-resistant tray or coaster underneath to protect furniture.
-
**Trim the wick before each burn:
- Cotton wicks: Trim to ¼ inch (6 mm)
-
Wooden wicks: Trim to ⅛ inch (3 mm)
Wood wicks must be kept very short—long wood wicks can cause large, smoky flames. - Remove any wick trimmings or debris from the wax surface.
While Burning
- Allow the candle to melt fully across the surface on the first burn to prevent tunneling.
- *Burn no longer than 3–4 hours at a time (there are reasons for this instruction!)
- Keep the flame away from drafts, vents, fans, and flammable materials.
- Never move a candle while lit or while the wax is hot.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Wooden Wick Care (Important)
- If the flame becomes too tall, flickers excessively, or produces smoke, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, and trim the wick shorter before relighting.
- For best performance, wood wicks should always be trimmed very short—nearly flush with the wax.
Extinguishing
- Extinguish with a candle snuffer or gently dip the wick into the wax and straighten it after.
- Never blow forcefully into the candle, especially with wooden wicks.
Discontinue Use
- Stop burning when ½ inch (13 mm) of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel, especially if you can already see the metal wick holder!!
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
